Brief
Firstly, to draft a feasibility study and then a marketing & business development plan, to support the introduction of a new whisky tourism initiative.
Secondly, to establish a high quality, year round, industry-led whisky tourism initiative, with the objective of attracting high spending visitors to whisky distilleries based on the west coast of Scotland.
Key Tasks
On both projects, to work/consult with whisky distilleries, tour operators, tourism operators (such as hotels, restaurants, retail outlets, golf courses, and historic places of interest), economic development agencies, tourism associations, potential sponsors, and marketing services agencies.
Outcomes
This high quality tourism initiative for the west coast of Scotland has now been created, and involves 16 whisky distilleries, 4 tour operators, 22 associate members, and 8 sponsors.
